LESSONS FROM YOUR 31ST YEAR 💔
These last few months on ships really have been nothing less than an epic adventure – landing some of the best itineraries in 2x 7month contracts!
The people – as always – far exceeded expectations and continue to rank in the ‘lifers’ category.
🎓 You seem to have a knack for finding high quality friendships Ames – never lose that. It’s sadly very true they’re the family you choose – you will be reminded of this over the coming years in no uncertain terms… #framily is what you nurture – always 💜
With this in mind, an emotional return to Queenstown is on the cards for the wedding of one of these individuals!
Much as this is something to SO look forward to – it’s of course not without its challenges. So many memories and connections to this magical little mountain town that literally changed the course of your life… (at this stage – more than you know 😬)
A decision to not return to cruise ships in favour of a season on Superyachts is unexpectedly more challenging and disappointing than it is exciting and fun.
🎓 Being in the proximity of such riches is an experience to take many perspectives from. It’s motivating to see how money brings some of the ‘finer’ things in life. Equally, your future self is glad you’re only getting a fleeting insight in to this otherwise rather toxic world… many of these people (guests and crew alike) certainly don’t seem to exude happiness 😵💫
This makes it a LOT easier to leave to return to London following horrendous news that Uncle Baz is likely only going to be around for another few months. Turns out that was only to be 4weeks 💔😭 #fuckyoucancer
The next few months are a bit of a blur…
🎓 One step and day at a time, you be where you need to be and do what you need to do. The processing of all this will come in the future when you’re least expecting it. You’re also going to get a lot more practice at the rollercoaster that is grief later – so try to be gentle with yourself 💕
As always, you and Mads find plenty of humour amidst the heartbreak of clearing Baz’s house.
Keep quiet about that gun we had to dismantle and toss piece by piece in to the Spanish mountains 🙊🤯
