Moving in with Lils is a good arrangement for now – she gets her favourite carer, you get a roof over your head. Living back in Surbiton is as wholesome as it is bizarre! 🏡
Lils deteriorates and is soon moving in with Mads. You make it your job to give the flat a long overdue renovation – a graft and a half but worthwhile 😵💫
Always one to stay curious in the career arena – this year sees no less than FOUR new ventures in the form of 3x jobs and 1x business 🤪
First up – a crack at being an estate agent. With some personal experience in the bag and living in proximity of some affluent suburbs, it seems like a good fit for where life is at right now (the car is handy too) 🚗
Within 3months, this industry leaves you feeling nauseous a little too often 🤢
One of the most satisfying moments of your life is walking out of that circus after telling the Manager with your best poker face, “this environment isn’t somewhere I can work I’m afraid”. This guy – known locally for taking developer ‘backhanders’ – is the epitome of every gross cliché that exists about estate agents 🐍
It feels empowering to know you’re doing exactly what the rest of the team in there want to do (as they’ve told you) but they’re a little older and are “just seeing it out until retirement in a few years” 🤯
🎓 It’s nice to get a wink from a couple of them as you walk out. The lesson? Always follow your gut and you’ll unknowingly be the inspiration for others to do the same.
Back to good ole Flight Centre it is. A role at Head Office is short lived – in part due to having to CHANGE YOUR ACTUAL NAME. Can’t have two Amy’s working the same department 🤨
As ever, things always work out – it leads to a switch to the Wimbledon Corporate Traveller office who are a bloody good bunch 🥰
You finally throw yourself in to an entrepreneurial hustle after imagining having a ‘laptop lifestyle’ for years. Staying up until 2am most nights learning how to build websites and write blog posts result in a less than healthy diet and zero social life but y’know – gotta grind for those #goals 🥴
🎓 Lesson? Desirable goals don’t require grinding anything. Ever. 😬
